This week, the girls and I met Trixie and Andrew at the fountains outside the Museum of Nature and Science, it's an "exhibit" of the museum, but also just a part of city park... so it's all FREE fun! We wished there was more shade around, but the water was still cool and refreshing on a HOT 96 degree day in Denver :) Our Champion play-date-man, The girls Grandpa Bob joined us for a quick soaking in his jeans, too!

before you were born I set you apart" --Jeremiah 1:5
My cousin Anna and her family recently moved to Phoenix, AZ. She was 29 weeks pregnant when she delivered her baby boy this morning. Please pray for their family as they adjust to such a tiny new life in their presence. They are still working on naming him... obviously he came much sooner than anticipated, so they have a list of favorites, but haven't narrowed it down yet :) Baby Boy was born at 3:04am today, weighing a mere 2 pounds 10 ounces, and measuring 13 inches long. After her water breaking on Monday, and stopping contractions with medication, they stabilized Anna, but when they lessened or took her off of some Magnesium, her labor started back up. She pushed him out with one tiny little push. What a babe! He has oxygen, but is already doing a great job breathing on his own--doesn't need too much help:) He'll be in the NICU for several weeks.
I had my regular Dr. appointment this morning. Everything went great! PRAISE GOD for our healthy baby and mama!!!
I have healthy blood pressure (so far at each visit, which is great!) and could continue to gain around a pound a week. I didn't change weight from the previous visit two weeks ago, but had gone up 5lbs in two weeks before. So, we're good, as long as baby keeps gaining weight this week! My belly is measuring right at 33cm (PERFECT) and baby's heart rate is in the 140s today :) This is slightly higher than the last few times she's checked... I had been in the 130s before. So, who subscribes to the idea of heart rate numbers meaning boy/girl theory? Is it a girl or a boy!?
Baby has been moving all around everyday, all day, it seems like! It is so fun to watch it contort into strange positions. Today, Dr. Lewkowski pointed out the (likely) butt right in the middle of my belly, a head down low, and feet/legs/knees over on my right side. And, that's what Tim…
How your baby's growing: (from babycenter.com)By now, your baby weighs 3.75 pounds (pick up a large jicama) and is about 16.7 inches long, taking up a lot of space in your uterus. You're gaining about a pound a week and roughly half of that goes right to your baby. In fact, she'll gain a third to half of her birth weight during the next 7 weeks as she fattens up for survival outside the womb. She now has toenails, fingernails, and real hair (or at least respectable peach fuzz). Her skin is becoming soft and smooth as she plumps up in preparation for birth.
Belleview park is this sweet sweet public park, owned by the City of Englewood. It has a giant plane on display (like up on a stand--you can't go in it), two awesome playgrounds for the kids, several clean picnic shelters, bathrooms, Big Dry Creek (little creek that runs through the length of the park), bridges, a train to ride, and a small farm/petting zoo. It is free to get in, but $1.50 per kid for the Farm or Train. Super fun summer entertainment! The creek is great for the kiddos to play in, because it is shallow (up to two feet at deepest-but mostly around 1/2 a foot deep?), sandy-bottomed, and has fun stuff for them to find on the bottom like rocks, sticks, and crayfish. I love bringing the kids there!
Like a week ago, Trixie and I met up there with the kids and just played. We soaked up the sun, had a picnic, found some crayfish (dead), rode the train, and visited the farm. Lots of fun!
As you may be able to see, my sticking-out-belly button is hard for someone to miss these days. I walked up to Tim's softball games Monday night, and one of the player's wives said, "Hi Amy, how are you? You're belly button's sticking out!" :) I think that sums it up well enough. I've still been feeling great, although sometimes tired. Lately, my back has began to ache. It is pretty much when I switch from sitting or laying to a standing or walking position. If I squat, it is more painful, too. But, it is just a moment of ache until my body readjusts to the shift. Tim made a comment last night that it looks like I am starting to get a more waddley walk, too.
Last night we toured the OB Maternity part of our Hospital. It went great, and it was so precious to see a little baby in the nursery---and imagine that in about 9 weeks, we'll have one of those too! We are both getting very excited to have a baby at home, in our lives, as the beginning of growin…
So, our little KB is officially a very active baby. This kid doesn't sit still for much, and I mostly love it! It might have creeped a few of my neighbors out while baby was squirming around on the plane... You know, it isn't totally normal for a person's stomach to just ripple around, and stick out about 3 inches here and there for several seconds or minutes at a time. Funny Baby!
Here's the latest on our scrawny and long little guy or gal (from babycenter.com):
How your baby's growing:Your baby's about 15.7 inches long now, and she weighs almost 3 pounds (like a head of cabbage). A pint and a half of amniotic fluid surrounds her, but that volume will decrease as she gets bigger and takes up more room in your uterus. Her eyesight continues to develop, though it's not very keen; even after she's born, she'll keep her eyes closed for a good part of the day. When she does open them, she'll respond to changes in light but will have 20/400 visi…

When I flew to MN a couple weeks ago, I had a great time showing off my belly to family & friends. We laughed and were able to catch up on many lost months.
First, Mom and Suzy picked me up at the airport and we visited Megan and (I got to meet) Mathew. Their little house in Minneapolis is super cute, and coming together great--very homey! Oh, and their dog Remi. Then, we went up to Milaca where I stayed with Grandma Shirley overnight. She was happy to see me, but even more sad to see me go... She had me go through old pictures with her, bring some things down to her basement, take care of a load of laundry, and sweep off the front porch/sidewalk/driveway before I could leave... It was her ploy to keep me there as long as possible, I think ;) Oh, Grandma! I love you! After that, I went to mom's for a nice lunch and afternoon with her. We got to look through some baby pictures and just funny old family photos that I hadn't seen or had forgotten about... It was so much fun to …
