Visit from Aunt Cindy

My sweet aunt Cynthia, dad's sister, visited us on her way through Denver last week. It was great to see her, to let her meet Cody, and to just hang out for lunch. Jordan gave her the instructions that it was her Aunt-Duty to treat us to lunch, and she willingly obliged :)

He was teasing, of course, because he brother Jason and Monica have treated Jordan and Joy the same, saying such.

Cody Alton :::: ten months old

Cody has only two months left before he is an entire year old!  What!? Where has the time gone. Isn't he still my little baby? Well, I am not going to dwell on the fact that he is getting older. I will instead rejoice in the fact that he's my son, healthy, growing, and joyous. Praise the Lord for HIS blessing of Cody in our lives! Also Praise God that Cody likes kisses now.. Giving and Getting :)

Climber Codeman

Our son is a ten month old jungle man. He climbs nearly everything he can reach. He swings from under his high chair. He wails like a, I don't know, a jungle animal. He claps like a monkey. He crawls like a Panther. He is as active as the creatures living in the dark forests. Yes, those prove, he is a jungle guy :) He's cute, too.

Cody's helping his mama pack

Well, quite the contrary.  But, he had good intentions while I was packing a giant box of bathroom stuff.  He just didn't have the right follow through.
Also, We're moving out a week from tomorrow!!! YIKES!

Cody at Nine Months Old

Here are some videos  from last month, showing Cody's skills.

He was able to crawl, clap, shout, squirm, stand and walk along furniture, and just be a jabberer.

Dangerous Meditations

What harm is there in achieving a higher state of consciousness through meditation?
I just read an article, shared by a friend in our AC (Adult Communities are  like Sunday School) at our church. Douglas Groothuis wrote in Christianity Today about the dangers of Yoga and Meditation a few years ago. Here is the link to the article "Dangerous Meditations"

"Yoga, deeply rooted in Hinduism,  essentially means to be "yoked"  with the divine.
...The goal is to find God within  their own beings,  since God (Brahman) and the self (Atman)  are really one. "
This is an informative read for fellow believers to understand better these underlying meditative practices.I am still learning what I can about Yoga, specifically. But I thought this was worth sharing for those who might be interested. It is hard to know which Yogis are truly seeking to suspend their rational patterns of thought, and which think they are just stretching in a healthy way. Satan is deceptive, and we n…

Cody playing fetch with Maggie

Cody and our dog Maggie are finally interacting more these days! It is so cute to see them play together. And, that Maggie actually lets him get close enough to touch her. It's fun!

10,000 Reasons (Bless the Lord)

A song by Matt Redman has recently been coming up in my heart. We've been singing it in the worship service at our church. It is beautifully sung, and more importantly, beautifully written.

Listen and Praise the Lord with these lyrics when you have some time to be alone. It is beautiful.

"10,000 Reasons (Bless The Lord)"
Bless the Lord, O my soul
O my soul
Worship His holy name
Sing like never before
O my soul
I'll worship Your holy name
The sun comes up, it's a new day dawning
It's time to sing Your song again
Whatever may pass, and whatever lies before me
Let me be singing when the evening comes

Bless the Lord, O my soul
O my soul
Worship His holy name
Sing like never before
O my soul
I'll worship Your holy name
You're rich in love, and You're slow to anger
Your name is great, and Your heart is kind
For all Your goodness I will keep on singing
Ten thousand reasons for my heart to find

Bless the Lord, O my soul
O my soul
Worship His holy name
