Christmas Comes So Soon!

We can't ever keep quite on top of everything in our crazy life! But, sometimes we are better at it than right now. I finally printed out our Christmas family photo at sam's last Thursday, and just sent the postcards in the mail yesterday and the rest today. I just sent some presents in the mail Saturday. I sent the last batch of presents to Minnesota with brother Jon as he departed on Friday... Anyway, does it get any more procrastinated? Oh, I forgot to mention that I even hand-passed out some of the postcards this week at church, and after church.

Overnighting it

After a whirlwind weekend in the snowy state, I came back to a peaceful evening with my husband. He cooked a delicious dinner (lasagna--YUMM) for us, and we curled up on the couch to watch--in annual tradition--Christmas Vacation, you know, the Chevy Chase hit from early 90s? It is a family favorite! The seriously relaxing evening continued when Tim dished me up some ice cream and a fresh brownie, and I basically watched him do the dishes and all the rest of kitchen clean up! He is the BEST husband!

Well, Monday I worked a normal day, but then stayed overnight with my little girls... Tim and Maggie joined the three of us for a fun dinner, cookies, and plenty of playtime. When he left, free couch in tow(more on that later) and I turned out all the lights, I only had to get up once, to help Selby put her passy back in her mouth. Pretty restful night on the couch with HGTV and some hot chocolate:) Aaaaah. Bliss!

Fin woke up nice and late, around 7am, while her normal wake up time is like…

Grandma Vi

In memory of our dear Viola Elvira Isaacson Valo, our treasure.

My grandma Vi, 85, passed away peacefully while at home Wednesday afternoon...Blessed to be in the company of her Lord & Savior Jesus Christ. So far... Grandpa George is fine, but at a huge loss.
My mom's sister Jane & Keith Olson and their kids have all been there at Grandpa's side, as well as mom's brother, Byron.  Grandpa's wonderful Woodbury neighbors have stepped into help as needed ( Mom just took him to a Neighborhood Christmas party last week, so she saw how they all love my dad!)
We are currently hoping to plan on a Sat Service at St. Peter Lutheran Church (Afton) near their home. Pray for peace, for safe and timely travel, and especially for my grandpa George's peace at his sudden loneliness over the loss of the love of his life of 63 years.
Praise the Lord as He is in our Daily lives ... 1Peter 5:6-7

Kids are funny

The other day, Fin looked at me and said, "I love you, Amy. Will you play with me?" So I enthusiastically responded, "Of course! What do you want to play?" I was then met with a stunned look that showed I dare even ask such a question without assuming the obviously Best and Ultimate answer... "A Foyt!!!" wow. Clear the way, Fin wants to make a fort. However, even after she begged me to play with her, all she wanted was to watch me, critique my blanket-hanging skills and show me where to sit. This spot was definitely NOT in the fort with her... No it was in the middle of the hard wood living room floor with no pillows, no blankets. Not Nothing, except me. And, a soon to follow me Selby.

So, I asked Fin why I couldn't play in the fort that "we" built "together" and why she was in there all alone if she wanted to p,ay with me... Again, that crazy look... It turns out, I am only wanted for petty love. Just for fort building, 'coff…
