5 Months Old (January 7th)

Cody is growing up SO fast! Things are going really well for him and for us as his parents. We have learned to let things go when we need to (comments that aren't necessary to help us get one step further through the day) and soak up all the help and advice (those that DO support and encourage us!) we can. We tried Rice cereal with Cody for a little over a week, but decided to hold off on that for now. He did fine with it--and we did record his face--but we're just going to wait until he is a little more in need of solids. I would love to try making my own fruit and veggie purees for him... I have a Kitchen Aid Mixer w/ Food Grinder attachment, a Magic Bullet, and a baby food mill thing. I'll see what works best and probably freeze the food in ice cube trays or little containers. He is SUPER active... rolling across the room. Well, it is more like gracefully flopping around the room.

Yuck, the other day I came into the Living room and caught him sliming up Maggie's Kon…

"Are you fresh for everything?"

While reading Chamber's My Utmost for His Highest the other day, this struck me--nicely.

"Jesus answered and said to him, 'Most assuredly, I say to you, unless one is born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God'" (John 3:3)

... Jealously guard your relationship with God. Jesus prayed "that they may be one just as We are one"--with nothing in between (John 17:22). Keep your whole life continually open to Jesus Christ. Don't pretend to be open with Him. Are you drawing your life from any source other than God Himself? If you are depending on something else as your source of freshness and strength, you will not realize when His power is gone. ...

Jerri & Cody

This was such a precious and special moment. Jerri is like mine and Tim's other mom. We love you, Jerri! Missing your little indo face right about now!!!

Christmastime in Minnesota with some of our family

Tim, Jon, me, Cody, Cooper, and Maggie piled (high to the ceiling) into the Sienna for the first family road trip. We left Denver with about a foot of fresh snow, and by the time we were in Nebraska, there was just dry land, no snow. It stayed looking that way until about Elk River, MN (30 mins from home) where we started to see white. But, it was a mini-white. Like the kind that if you look at the right angle, it looks like there is snow on the ground, but if you look from another angle, it's still green-brown. Oh well. We drove overnight which was a huge success. And by we, I mean Jon and Tim. They were rockstars. Cooper started to annoy Jon, so he was sentenced to a drive in the back with Maggie from around Council Bluffs, IA to Milaca. It went over much smoother than we'd all anticipated!

We arrived in the Milaca Area the morning of Christmas Eve, and took a rest at Tim's mom's house before we headed over to Mora for Christmas time with his dad's family!

The Swedins got a new puppy. She is absolutely adorable... much what Maggie would have looked like as a pup, had we known her.

4 1/2 months old.

And still as cute as ever! We had a mini photo shoot on Mike & Suzy (Tim's mom)'s couch the other week. That is one ADORABLE bottom, if I do say so myself!
