Cheyenne Frontier Days in Wyoming with Jason Aldean!!!

37 Weeks Kastenbaby

Baby is officially "Full Term" now. This means that it would be technically okay for him or her to decide that it is time! WOW. But, we really still have two and a half weeks until Due Date (August 12). I'm rooting for an even-numbered birthday :) because I like them better. My last appointment brought me up to speed on really knowing when labor is beginning... That's what I was a little nervous about, that I wouldn't exactly know when or what was happening, but now I'm pretty certain I won't miss it. I just might jump the gun ;)

My nurse (she was SUPER helpful and sweet) said that I'm right on track. My belly was measuring at 37cm (technically my appt was at 36 wks 6 days) and baby's feeling like he or she is in a great position. Woohoo! Preparing for their departure from the womb: Baby's little heart rate has slowed some, it was down to the 120s up to 130 (it has been in the 140s down to 130s). I've gained a healthy 31 pounds, and am fe…

Motherhood Is a Calling (And Where Your Children Rank)

Motherhood Is a Calling (And Where Your Children Rank)

This is a really great blog from the Desiring God page. It is titled "Motherhood..." but I think just parenthood in general is applicable. Parents and non parents should all read this little article on worldview of children vs. a Biblical view of raising Godly children.

(I found through my friend Lindsey :) who posted it on facebook! Thanks Lin!)

Baby at 36 Weeks!

Week 36. That means only one more week left before I am officially "Full Term" and I'm feeling it!  I still have quite a bit of energy, but am feeling more and more tired each afternoon. This is partly due to the fact that I'm not sleeping very well, but partly I think because there is like a 6 pound baby dancing around all day long inside of me, requiring my energy. This child has become a little buddy to me. I talk to it, sing with it, and "hold" it all the time. When I get slightly too-tired or aggravated at work with the girls, I know my baby is totally on my side. Baby doesn't like to hear a whiny voice, or be hit with a toy, or have his or her things taken from him or her either! So--me & baby--we're totally on the same page. SOMETIMES. Other times, I make Tim sit down and have a little chat with our child. Already-KB is learning very bad behaviors by kicking mama while she's trying to get things done. Or by constantly moving when mama…

PBR Friday Night Bulls at the Evergreen Rodeo

Tim and I went to the Evergreen Rodeo on June 17th, to watch the PBR Friday Night Bulls--part of the Pro Touring Division. It was definitely full of some great rides. We were very entertained by the roper and the gate boys... the Evergreen guys should certainly work on the behind-the-scenes part of things before next year. It seemed like every time they were supposed to take a bull back into the pens, something happened.

I loved it. Tim loved it. It is such fun sport to watch. I always get excited to see a bunch of cowboys in their jeans, boots, and hats... you know me :)

As a bonus--we bought a sweet (used, found on Craigslist) stroller while we were in Evergreen that evening for only $60! It is a great all-terrain jogging stroller with a front swivel wheel. Just what we were looking for!

Family Photos by MG Photography!

When I was just about 33 weeks along, we had Family/Maternity photos taken to capture the (all-to-fast-fleeting) moments of pregnancy together. Timothy was a super sport about it, and we loved the whole thing. Our friend Lea recommended Missy Goodenow for a Summer Portrait Party, and we couldn't be happier with the results! THANKS to both Lea & Missy!

Here are some of our favorites from the images we received...

A Happy Birthday!!!

35 Weeks

How your baby's growing:Your baby doesn't have much room to maneuver now that he's over 18 inches long and tips the scales at 5 1/4 pounds (pick up a honeydew melon). Because it's so snug in your womb, he isn't likely to be doing somersaults anymore, but the number of times he kicks should remain about the same. His kidneys are fully developed now, and his liver can process some waste products. Most of his basic physical development is now complete — he'll spend the next few weeks putting on weight.

34 Weeks Along

That leaves about 6!!! WOW.
After a fun weekend at Lake McConaughy, I can officially say that baby likes swimming... even if he/she is only 34 weeks old in my belly. Whenever a wave splashed, there was dancing, or kicking, or, somersaulting with joy :)

I feel pretty good still, but can barely stand balancing on my right leg anymore. It feels like someone is setting a semi truck on my lower back if I do that... So, when I slip my shorts on or off, or put shoes on, it is super quick! When baby moves, sometimes I think I might pee my pants. I almost did one morning while camping last weekend... BUT I just made it to the outhouse! PHEW! I still don't have to get up in the middle of the night though. By time 4:30 or 5am rolls around however, I am totally ready. Baby has an official girl name, and we still can't decide between two boy first names, and then even when we figure that out, it will be deciding the right middle name combo. Kastenbaby is like an average sized Cant…
